| Personal Growth Books |
Some of our best resources comes from reading and discovering who we are through the experiences of other people. This does not preclude our interaction with the world around us as that is putting what we read into action.
The books listed in this section have made a huge difference in my personal life. If you would like to recommend a book that has made a difference to you, please Contact Us. In The Four
Agreements shamanic teacher and healer Don Miguel Ruiz
exposes self-limiting beliefs and presents a simple yet
effective code of personal conduct learned from his
Toltec ancestors. |
  |
Don Miguel Ruiz has brought us all a gift to reclaim our own truth, from within our own hearts rather than listen to the `voice of knowledge' that so many people have destroyed when they give their own `knowledge' to you.
This wonderful book will help you shatter the judgment, self-recrimination, and denial of your greatest attributes that you have taken on from others, and have even learned to deny within your own self.
|
 |
Don Miguel teaches through parable and direct suggestion the transforming power of self-love. He says that all relationships start with you, and how you feel about yourself. You will allow just as much abuse and what he calls "emotional poison" as you inflict upon yourself. A truly loving relationship requires self love - which is so lacking in most of us. He says that we do not truly accept this person we say we love because we don't accept ourselves.

While not exactly a "how-to" book, "Beyond Fear" does contain a few exercises and ceremonies to help the reader align themselves with the spiritual practice that is the basis of The Four Agreements. Those agreements are: Be impeccable with your word. Don't take anything personally. Don't make assumptions. Always do your best. The basic premise of Miguel's teachings is that we must break old patterns that are based in fear and replace them with new "agreements" that are based in love. |

This book might help
readers land a better job, but it's more relevant for
those who are ready to detach from an ego-driven life
filled with quick fixes of happiness and step into a
more authentic, joyful, and spiritually fulfilling life.
His core teachings speak to tapping into a universal
source of energy that can also be called the "power of
intention." |

Who Moved My Cheese?
is a simple parable that reveals profound truths about
change. It is an amusing and enlightening story of four
characters who live in a "Maze" and look for "Cheese" to
nourish them and make them happy. |

This isn't a
quick-tips-start-tomorrow kind of book. The concepts are
sometimes intricate, and you'll want to study this book,
not skim it. When you finish, you'll probably have
Post-it notes or hand-written annotations in every
chapter, and you'll feel like you've taken a powerful
seminar by Covey. |
  |
Covey sees
leadership "as a choice to deal with people in a way
that will communicate to them their worth and potential
so clearly they will come to see it in
themselves." |
